Top Tips on the Perfect Wedding Smile
The wedding season is upon us and one thing is for certain, there will be a lot of cameras. Not only will there be at least one wedding photographer but people will be recording the special day with their cameras and phones. You want to have that perfect smile just in case a camera catches you.
Plan ahead
As much as we all might wish getting the perfect smile will happen over night, unfortunately it won’t. If you are looking to Invisalign in preparation for a wedding, begin your treatment at least 13 months before. This is roughly the usual period it will take to correct teeth.
Eating and drinking
What you eat and drink can affect your teeth. On the day, try to avoid food and drinks that are likely to stain your teeth. These include:
- Red wine
- Fizzy drinks
- Berries
- Sweets
If you find it hard to resist these food and drinks then there are a few ways to minimise staining and help remove any stains. Using a damp napkin can remove those small stains, or if you have larger stains on your teeth, just rinsing with water can help remove them. Crunchy fruits and vegetables are also useful in giving your teeth an emergency clean. Eat an apple or some celery for a fresher mouth.
Makeup
This mainly applies to the ladies wearing makeup. Picking the right shade of lipstick can help to brighten your teeth and make your smile look incredible. Try out different lip colours that make your teeth look whiter and also suit your face too.
Posture
Many people hate having their photographs taken, as it can be unflattering for them. If you get your posture right this won’t be a problem. The key points to remember are to turn your head at a slight angle away from the camera. Tilting your chin down will help to highlight your smile and your bone structure.
Practise
The best way to know how you will look in the photographs is to practise in the mirror. This way you can see what kind of smile suits you the best. Try out different angles to see which one is more flattering for you. You might think this is a little awkward to do but you aren’t the only one practising that pose.
Relax
The most important thing to remember is to relax and enjoy yourself. Candid photographs can be some of the best from the whole event. You will also have some great photographs to remember the fun you had.
