If it’s good enough for Tom Cruise…

When it comes to cosmetic dentistry it’s easy to think of women rather than men coming in for orthodontic treatment to get their teeth straightened.

But, Graham Tinkler regularly helps men achieve their ideal smile with Invisalign in London. In fact, Graham just treated Invisalign’s four millionth customer, and it was a guy called Matthew Webb.

invisalign-teethDr Tinkler himself has helped over 2,000 people improve their smiles with Invisalign in London during the ten years that he has been offering this clear braces system at Bupa Dental Care.

Other famous men who have used Invisalign include Tom Cruise and Justin Bieber. And male celebrities whom Graham has treated himself include rugby player Mike Tindall and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson.

The great thing about having Invisalign in London is that the aligners are not permanently fixed in the mouth, but can be removed for cleaning, eating and also, if needs be, for important occasions, such as weddings (although Invisalign are so discreet that Mike Tindall kept his on for his wedding day).

Here’s how the Invisalign process works:

During your initial appointment Dr Tinkler makes a highly accurate and detailed impression of your mouth. The information from this mould is fed into a computer, which creates an equally detailed and accurate model of your mouth in 3D. Now that your information is digital, Dr Tinkler can move the teeth about to show you the possibilities that can be achieved using Invisalign in London to straighten your teeth.

From this Dr Tinkler can tailor a treatment plan for your individual needs, which will include the stages that your teeth need to move through in order to finally come to their new, optimum position. Each stage is then created in the form of a thermoplastic resin aligner, which is a barely visible brace rather like a mouth-guard. The pressure from this rigid plastic gently nudges your teeth along their journey to their new position. Depending on your needs, you will have to wear between 12 and 48 of these aligners, each one for 20 hours a day for about two weeks.

Treatment times average between nine and 15 months, and you will need to come in for check-up appointments about every six weeks.
